Qualified BACP Counsellors
Life is not always easy, and our experience has taught us that counselling may offer to those who are facing emotional difficulties, a real opportunity to work towards resolving personal issues.
Our service provides one-to-one counselling and hypnotherapy in a safe and supportive environment where problems can be discussed and worked on in complete privacy and confidence.
We are located in South Manchester and are qualified, 'person-centred' counsellors who work with individuals on both a long and short term basis in the Greater Manchester and Cheshire areas.
We are based at Haigh Lea Therapy Rooms, www.haighlea.co.uk, in a quiet residential area of Sale, just 5 miles south of Manchester city centre.

The Person-Centred approach to counselling and
psychotherapy was founded by Carl Rogers, an eminent clinical psychologist who
developed his ideas over many years of practice and research. He believed
that each of us is our own best guide as to how to achieve our potential as human
beings. However, achieving potential requires certain favourable conditions,
and life experiences do not always offer these. Person-centred counselling
aims to provide such favourable conditions and so create the type of safe,
therapeutic environment where problems can be explored and understood.
"… a central aspect of psychotherapy… is the experience of becoming a more autonomous, more spontaneous, more confident person. It is the experience of freedom to be oneself"
(Carl Rogers)
In embracing this approach, we offer those who seek our help a readiness to properly understand what they are experiencing, to accept them and value them as fellow human beings, and to work with them to find a way forward for themselves using their own potential. This type of therapy can be difficult and even painful at times, but it can also be rewarding and the results long-lasting.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change"
(Carl Rogers)
